EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PINK MAMMA IN PARIS

Best Italian Restaurants in the 9th Arrondissements

IS PINK MAMMA IN PARIS AS GOOD AS THEY SAY IT IS?

If you're looking for an exceptional Italian restaurant in Paris, then you've found the right place. Complete with authentic Italian cuisine, a lavish bar, and one of the most beautiful indoor rooftops you can find, Pink Mamma stands out as a must-see spot on many tourists' bucket lists when visiting Paris. And I was one of them! So if you're considering visiting this viral restaurant during your time in France, make sure to dive in to the details below so you know exactly what to expect when it comes to reservations, the type of food there is, the cost of dinner, and more.

WHAT IS PINK MAMMA?

Pink Mamma is a super popular Italian restaurant in Paris that is associated with the Big Mamma group, which is an Italian restaurant chain that serves food at beautiful restaurants across France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Monaco. Pink Mamma itself is four floors tall with large windows on the top floor garden rooftop, making it the perfect place to have an Instagrammable lunch or dinner (though the lower levels also have seating and are stunning as well).

WHAT ARRONDISSEMENT IS PINK MAMMA IN?

Pink Mamma in Paris is located at 20bis Rue de Douai, 75009. This is in the 9th arrondissement, which means it is also within the vicinity of Galeries Lafayette, a famous shopping mall in Paris complete with luxury stores like Armani, Balenciaga, Bulgari, Christian Dior, etc., and Palais Garnier, one of the oldest and most famous opera houses in the world. The iconic Moulin Rouge is also down the street, just a 5 minute walk away! Not a bad location to grab a quick bite after a long day of shopping or a tour of a golden opera house, if you ask me.

WHY IS PINK MAMMA SO FAMOUS?

Pink Mamma is famous for multiple reasons. One of the most notable is the iconic garden rooftop at the top of the restaurant. Though each of the four levels are beautiful in their own way, the top floor has a wall of windows on two sides and a ceiling of windows that are covered in luscious vines. There is a stunning turquoise bar and subtle yellow lighting that they turn on at night that enhances the beauty and cozyness of the space. For reasons you can now visualize, this floor of the restaurant has become super popular to post about on TikTok and Instagram, and it really is a great spot to take pictures, regardless of if you are there during the day or at night.

But, there's also something to be said about Pink Mamma's food. While you might not want to visit Paris just to go out for Italian food, this Italian food is absolutely exceptional. I've been to Italy myself so I would say I have high standards when it comes to the freshness, simplicity, and quality of Italian food, and this place checked all my boxes. The food stands out to many, with a rotating menu of seasonal pasta, pizza, and meat dishes served on vibrant Italian ceramic dishes that make you want to plan your next trip back for another meal before you even leave the restaurant.

CAN YOU GO TO PINK MAMMA IN PARIS WITHOUT A RESERVATION?

Yes, you can technically go to Pink Mamma in Paris without make a reservation in advance. While Pink Mamma does allow walk-ins, it is advised to make a reservation before visiting if possible. This is because tables are limited and since the restaurant is very popular, you may be waiting a very long time for a table, if you're even granted one at all.

WHEN DO PINK MAMMA RESERVATIONS OPEN?

Pink Mamma reservations open 15 days in advance at 10:00 am Paris time. This means that if you are in the United States on the East Coast, like me, you will have to book at 4:00 am EST if you wanted to secure a booking right when the time and day you wanted opened up. If you are on the pacific coast of the US and you follow PST, you will have to book the reservation at 1:00 am PST because of the 9 hour time difference. However, I don't think waking up this early is necessary to get a reservation at Pink Mamma. I think as long as you shoot to book the reservation on the day your date opens up, that should be fine.

How to BOOK DINNER AT PINK MAMMA

You can book a reservation at the iconic Pink Mamma in Paris by clicking on the "book" button on their website, which will then take you to Seven Rooms reservation platform so that you can choose the number of people, date, and time that you are looking to book for. Since this is a very popular Italian restaurant in Paris, I would advise trying to book through the website in advance, especially if you're looking to eat at Pink Mamma during the weekend. The earliest you can snag a booking is 15 days in advance.

WHAT IS ON THE MENU AT PINK MAMMA?

Pink Mamma has a monthly menu that rotates on the first of each month so that diners can enjoy seasonal Tuscan-style dishes of pasta, pizza, and various famous meat entrees. Some of the most notable dishes Pink Mamma has include truffle pasta, creamy burrata, margarita pizza, and a large t-bone fiorentina steak served with a whopping side of roasted potatoes. They make all of their pasta homemade, and there is a long list of cocktails, wines, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that make perfect pairings with the fresh Italian cuisine.

MY EXPERIENCE EATING AT PINK MAMMA IN PARIS

My friend Callie, my sister, and I went to dinner at Pink Mamma during our Paris trip last November and we absolutely and irrevocably fell in LOVE with this Italian restaurant as soon as the first bite of food hit our tongues. As both pasta and pizza enthusiasts, we had high expectations for this place. We had seen pictures all over Instagram and TikTok telling us that we had to stop at this restaurant, even if only to take a picture in their garden rooftop or on the iconic staircase, so we listened and decided to book a dinner reservation.

Once we got there, we held our breaths going up the stairs, hoping that we would be on the fourth floor where the rooftop was. And thankfully, we were! Though the room was packed with tables, the ambience was great with dim lighting, plant vines covering the ceiling, and a gorgeous turquoise colored bar. We decided we were going to try a couple different dishes family style, so we went right ahead ordering the burrata, margarita pizza, and the truffle pasta. We also got a few seasonal cocktails, and enjoyed the homemade bread and butter. Everything we ate here was exceptional, and I have no doubt that if we had more time in our trip, we probably would have visited again. This was one of our favorite dinners in Paris because of both the quality of food and the ambiance (and we didn't think the prices were bad at all!). Overall, I think the three of us would agree that we would highly recommend, and I would even go as far as to say that I will be looking out for other restaurants part of the Big Mamma restaurant group to visit in the future.

IS PINK MAMMA ACTUALLY WORTH IT?

YES, Pink Mamma is one of the few restaurants that is actually worth the hype in Paris. Though it can be hard to assess whether or not a restaurant would be worth the trip after just seeing it on social media, it became evidently clear to my sister, my friend, and I once we arrived at Pink Mamma that the experience was definitely worth it. The food was fresh and fantastic, the portion sizes were decent (especially if you ordered a meat dish), the homemade bread and olive oil they give you to start is good, and the ambiance cannot be beat. If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Paris that has great food, a large menu of options, seasonal cocktails, Instagrammable spots, and is decently priced, this is the place for you. Just make sure to make a reservation in advance if possible, because it does book up fast!
