Your honeymoon trip only happens once, and it's meant to be a celebration of love and the beginning of a lifelong journey with your partner. While there are multiple different types of honeymoon trips a couple could choose from, I believe your honeymoon should be full of sun, relaxing, quality time, and creating memories with your significant other. If you've chosen Bali as your honeymoon destination, (great choice by the way), then you can rest easy knowing that there are PLENTY of exceptional options when it comes to finding a blend of serene activities and bucket-list items you'll never forget. After visiting Bali myself and spending over two weeks exploring multiple different regions, these are my recommendations for must-visit spots in Bali during your honeymoon in 2025:
Canggu is known as Bali's "southern gem", offering comfort and luxury but also acting as the perfect backdrop for love to blossom. This area has exceptional beaches, trendy cafes, and a vibrant nightlife, serving as the ideal base to kickstart your honeymoon. One of my favorite spots to visit in Canggu is the
Atlas Beach Club. Close to luxury hotels like Citadines and LV8, the Atlas Beach Club is a great spot because of its versatility. Couples can start with an intimate couple's massage that promises to help relax and erases any remnants of travel fatigue, ensuring you're both rejuvenated for the rest of your trip. Following your massages, you can enjoy the luxury of private daybeds, sample a unique menu designed to cater to your tastes, and swim in private pools and/or in the ocean only a couple hundred feet away. The Atlas Beach Club also has a number of exclusive experiences – from engaging tarot readings to authentic Balinese art performances, you never know what to expect! And once you're done having some fun in the sun, you can come back for the Atlas Super Club's nightlife, where we have a number of popular DJ's come and play. Overall, I would personally say that this beach club is not just a place; it's a necessary stop for an elevated honeymoon experience and the makings of a great spot to spend both the daytime and nighttime.
So you know how Bali is famous for having beautiful temples? Well, Uluwatu is a region located in the southwestern tip of Bali and it's home to one of the most breathingtaking ones: the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. While all temples in Bali can be quite exquisite, this particular temple is located at the top of a cliff with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean behind it. A popular place to visit during sunset, this is the perfect spot to spend an evening with your significant other while you watch the sun go down over the water (and if you're lucky, you may see the locals perform the traditional Kecak Dance as well!).
Another must-see stop during your honeymoon in Bali is the iconic Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. This park is not just a beautifully manicured lawn with a few park benches like you might envision when you hear the word "park"; this specific area stands out because there are multiple magnificant statues across the property. One of the most famous statues is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, which stands at an astounding 121 meters tall and is a representation of the Hindu god Vishnu and his mount, the Garuda bird. Over
Ubud is a more rural area in Bali, complete with lush rainforests and dense rice paddy fields. My first time visiting Bali, my friend group and I stayed in Ubud for almost a week and we were absolutely obsessed. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and just take in a different culture and landscape, this is a must-see area. This is also the best area in Bali to learn how to ride a scooter if that's something you're interested in because there are a lot of dirt roads lined with rice terraces, palm trees, and not too many other drivers. Just make sure to wear a helmet!
Ubud is also known for the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, where visitors can roam freely just like the monkeys, and there are even tours available at coffee and tea farms!
Nusa Dua epitomizes luxury, with its pristine beaches, exclusive resorts, and beautiful villas. Known for its beauty and upscale amenities, Nusa Dua offers a serene beach holiday coupled with cultural experiences. It’s a place where relaxation meets luxury, ensuring your honeymoon is nothing short of extraordinary. I would personally advise visiting Nusa Dua for a day trip to either Nusa Dua Beach, Geger Beach, or Mengiat Beach for a day of tanning, swimming, and connecting with your significant other. There's also the option to try water sports here, including jet skiiing, parasailing, and more.
Jimbaran Beach is a fish village famed for its seafood restaurants, long beaches with calm water, and breathtaking sunsets, providing a romantic setting for couples. This area is also home to the Jimbaran Fish Market, where couples can enjoy picking out fresh seafood like lobster, shrimp, oysters and more, and bringing it next door to Warung Garlic where they will grill your food for as low as $2 AUD/ $1.30 USD. If you don't want to pick out your seafood and simply want to show up to a good restaurant and eat, I would advise visiting Menega Cafe or Bawang Merah Beach Front Restaurant, both of which are located directly on the beach.
For couples seeking a quieter area to spend time together, Lovina, with its calm beaches and traditional Balinese charm, is the ideal destination. There are quite a few must-do activities visitors recommend in this area, but it seems dolphin watching and snorkeling are at the top of the list. Both of these experiences can help to take your honeymoon from just a relaxing trip to a vacation where you're trying new experiences and making new memories with your new spouse. Additionally, exploring the local markets and temples can provide a great cultural experience for couples looking to immerse themselves in the Balinese way of life and to learn a little bit more about the locals.
No matter where you visit in Bali for your honeymoon, I have no doubt you're going to absolutely fall in love with this beautiful island. While Bali is evidently a beautiful place to visit with a versatile landscape of jungle, beaches, rice terraces, and waterfalls to explore, make sure not to overlook the exceptional food, friendly locals, and the famous nightlife. Regardless of whether you want a honeymoon full of relaxation by the pool and spa treatments or you want a to try new experiences with your significant other and learn all about Bali, local businesses like Atlas Beach Club are here to make your honeymoon absolutely amazing. The best time of year to honeymoon in Bali is during the dry season, which typically runs from April to October. This period provides tourists with sunny weather and lower humidity/rain, which is ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the island. However, I went in January and even though it did rain a bit, the weather was still beautiful and we had sun 95% of the trip.
The answer to this question depends on where you are currently located. If you are only a couple hours flight away from Bali, in Australia or another area of Southeast Asia, I would say you can come for 5-7 days. If you are American, like me, then the flight to Bali can be 21+ hours long if you fly direct, and the time change for our group was 13 hours. In that case, I would advise taking a longer trip of 10-14 days like we did so your body can get used to the time change, and it makes it more worth it to fly and travel for that long.
